Ros is currently putting the finishing touches to The Ros Millar Online Boutique which will be launched on her current website www.rosmillar.com at the beginning of 2012.

The Online Boutique will feature pieces from all o Ros's collection including the Black & Rose, Nugget and Yellow Rock Collection. Rings in any size can be ordered online and will be made, packaged and then shipped by Ros in her studio.

Ros is exhibiting at YSP until the end of February in their MADE 2011 Exhibition. MADE highlights the talents of graduates and exciting new designers in the UK and across the world. This exhibition runs alongside scottish designer Donna Wilson's playful textiles which she brings to Yorkshire Sculpture Park this Winter. She draws her inspiration from the landscape to create an eccentric world of knitted trees and curiosities featuring her trademark patterns and colours alongside exclusive limited edition prints. Other intriguing work on display this Winter outside is Jaume Piensa's which is their first major exhibition in the UK.

TUK Store Opening 2nd December

Ros has just delivered new pieces to TUK Store. The TUK Store is a creative platform to exhibit an eclectic mix of innovative and contemporary products. TUK have created a dedicated retail environment where designers can showcase and sell their work. The profits from the store will help TUKcic fund qualified complementary healthcare therapists to treat individuals with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. The space boasts inventive counters and cabinets using glass, concrete and steel. The shop aims to show an eclectic mix of modern work - from experimental pieces by new designers to a wide range of engagement and wedding rings, crafted by top British and European designers. It is located at 33 Park Street in central Bristol, at the bottom of this historic hill which leads from the City Centre up to Clifton. Former Paul Smith designer Emily Dyson established lifestyle store Couverture in 1999. In Spring 2008 Couverture relocated from its original site in Chelsea to the heart of Notting Hill. Here Dyson, together with her fashion designer husband Ian Paley, opened the concept store "Couverture & The Garbstore". Launching to critical acclaim with The Times voting it Cult Shop in 2008, the store is now firmly established as one of London’s premier shopping destinations. The ground and galleried first floors are dedicated to the Couverture collections and include womenswear and accessories, children’s and babywear, toys, jewellery, home accessories, furniture and covetable vintage finds. The mix of international and European fashion labels result in languid dressing from Humanoid, signature boyfriend shirting from Steven Alan and innovative tailoring from Rachel Comey. I am excited to announce that I made it as a finalist in the Balvenie Masters of Craft Awards. I entered the awards under the 'Young Master of Crafts category' regarding the technique of cuttlebone casting which I use in both the design process and for the making of one - off pieces within my collections. The awards ceremony took place last night on Wednesday 1st June at Connaught Hotel in Mayfair. The expert panel of judges includes TV presenter and author, Kevin McCloud, Chairman of the Heritage Crafts Association, Robin Wood, expert crafts photographer, Nick Hand, Editor of The Sunday Telegraph Life, Anne Cuthbertson and the whisky industry's longest standing Malt Master, David Stewart.

Take a look at my first commission of 2011 which I completed last week. This was just one piece in a set made up of earrings, bracelet and pendant (as shown above). I designed and made the commission within a two month period. The pendant above consists of 18ct Yellow Gold with White Gold and Champagne Diamonds detalling with the signature design of the stud which features in my 'Black & Rose' Collection.

I had a great weekend exhibiting at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair in Manchester last week. Not only was there lots of amazing jewellers, but I got the chance to meet designers from several different disciplines including ceramics, furniture and textiles etc. Big shout out to all the super friendly designers from the Manchester Craft and Design Centre......... check out their work and have a nosey at their studios - they are situated in the northern quarter!!!!

Goldsmiths' Fair 2010

I am busy making away in the studio in the run up to Goldsmiths' Fair. I will be exhibiting in Week 2 in the foyer at stand 2!!! Have a look at my rings which will be featured in the Goldsmiths' Catalogue. The rings consist of black oxidised silver growth ring with brown diamond and black oxidised silver and rose gold plate fine bands.

Had a meeting yesterday with the very very lovely, Sophie Merchant from Merchant Archive. Her shop is amazing - you could spend hours looking through her pieces she has in store let alone just looking at the shop building which used to be a General Store.

Visited Manchester last week......I have now got some work available in Manchester Craft Centre, which is situated in the Northern Quarter.
